Instruction:

1. Tetrahydrofuran, the raw material of spandex synthesis, can be self polycondensated (ring opening and re polymerization initiated by cation) to poly (tetramethylene ether glycol) (PTMEG), also known as tetrahydrofuran polyether. PTMEG and toluene diisocyanate (TDI) were used to make special rubber with wear resistance, oil resistance, good low temperature performance and high strength, and block polyether polyester elastic material was made with dimethyl terephthalate and 1,4-butanediol. PTMEG with molecular weight of 2000 and p-methylene bis (4-phenyl) diisocyanate (MDI) are used as raw materials for polyurethane elastic fiber (spandex fiber), special rubber and some special purpose coatings. The main use of THF is to produce PTMEG. According to rough statistics, more than 80% of THF in the world is used to produce PTMEG, and PTMEG is mainly used to produce elastic spandex fiber. 2. Tetrahydrofuran (THF) is a common excellent solvent, especially suitable for dissolving PVC, polyvinylidene chloride and butylamine. It is widely used as a solvent for surface coating, anticorrosive coating, printing ink, tape and film coating. It can control the thickness and brightness of aluminum layer when used in electroless aluminum plating bath. Tape coating, PVC surface coating, cleaning PVC reactor, removing PVC film, cellophane coating, plastic printing ink, thermoplastic polyurethane coating, adhesive solvent, widely used in surface coating, protective coating, ink, extraction agent and synthetic leather surface treatment agent.

3. Used as raw materials for organic synthesis such as pharmaceuticals. In the pharmaceutical industry, it is used to synthesize kebiqing, rifamycin, progesterone and some hormone drugs. It can be used as odor agent (identification additive) in fuel gas and the main solvent in pharmaceutical industry.

4. chromatographic solvents for other uses (gel permeation chromatography) are used for flavored natural gas, acetylene extractive solvents, polymeric light stabilizers, etc. With the wide application of tetrahydrofuran, especially the rapid growth of spandex industry in China in recent years, the demand for PTMEG in China is increasing day by day, and the demand for tetrahydrofuran is also showing a rapid growth trend.

Precautions for storage: generally, the products are added with polymerization inhibitor. Store in a cool and ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire and heat source. The storage temperature should not exceed 30 ℃. The package should be sealed and not in contact with air. It should be stored separately from oxidant, acid, alkali, etc. Explosion proof lighting and ventilation facilities are adopted. It is forbidden to use mechanical equipment and tools that are easy to produce sparks. The storage area shall be equipped with leakage emergency treatment equipment and suitable storage materials.
